February in Texas

I love the weather in TX most of the time.  This weekend was exceptionally beautiful tho.  Maybe it was because we have been couped up for so long due to the ice and sub-zero temps...
Here is how my sewing shack is coming along thanks to the lovely weather. We put a pathway of stepping stones in.
We made a small flower garden on one side of the patio Joel and the kids made.
Here is another view.  All of the materials, bricks, wood, stones, etc. were reclaimed from various piles that Joel's Granny had laying around.

The scalloped bricks were found holding up an old propane tank we have in the yard.
Joel buried a piece of pipe about a foot into the ground and we have an instant flower pot.  Maybe I will paint it...maybe not.

The poles were added as an after thought. I wanted to be able to hang flowering baskets.  All of the pots we found in the woods.  We can be very creative with found items if we try.  I am really loving my little shack.  The potential it has is enormous!

Here are a few random pics

Yeah, I made that coat.  It is really cute.
Yeah I made this child.  It is really cute!

Yeah, I made this child too.  She is really cute all dressed up in Jeremiah's shoes and coat and hat.
Ok here is my cutie!

Joel and his silly Aunt at Grandma's house...for Christmas dinner.

Here's Mama's boy. I made him too.

Remodeling

If you know anything about me, then you know that I love to destroy old yucky walls and make them beautiful again.  This house was definately in need of beautification.
We removed the wallpaper and painted! yay!

And of course it wouldn't feel like home unless I cover all the wall in pretties!

This is the best I can get of the bathroom.  We removed black wallpaper.
There is a lot left to do but these two small improvements make me happy.

This spring I am going to start on a FLOWER Garden! I loved my garden in UT and can't wait to have one here.

This is the scenery you'll see when you turn down our road. Pretty. I am glad they put some roadbase in finally.  The other side is still mud.
These are some earrings I made this past weekend. So cute.

Here is a small portion of our remodeled bathroom, with the pretty curtain I made.

Here is a side view of the haircut I did on Vivian...learned it on YouTube! It is super cute.

Here are some Raccoon hand prints on the seat of my motor scooter. They were trying to steal it, I am pretty sure of that.

I need to take some pictures of my painted kitchen, the ones I uploaded weren't good at all.

Christmas!!

Christmas 2010 was kindof a repeat of 1999, meaning we are in the same house and it was almost the same weather. Alexis spent her first Xmas here, weird to think.
Vivian and Jeremiah both got new guitars for their Xmas so I expect to hear some music soon.

These are our new PJ's, mine are footie pajamas.  Fun but static-ee.
This was a good Christmas, even without the snow. The kids were all thrilled with their gifts and the time at Grandma's was fun.  We finally met another of Joel's cousins. They all look like family that's for sure.
Here is a fuzzy picture of our tree. Duh! Like you couldn't figure that out on your own.

Vivian as Lulie McIntosh

Vivian Leigh was in her school play competition yesterday.  4 schools were there to compete. Their school placed 3rd! And Vivian won the Best Actress award out of all those students! She is so happy and proud as are we :)

Lake Livingston

Even though this lake is infested with giant Alligator Gar fish and even the rare Alligator, it is really beautiful sometimes. This was taken Saturday night from my Mother-in-law's lake house. WOW!
