These are purple hull peas, and Joel brought home four 5 gallon buckets for us to shell. They are quite tasty :) but not very fun to shell.
It was made into a family affair, but in reality we let the kids do most of the work. 2 days later and we were able to freeze 9 1/2 quarts of fresh peas! yummy!
